1)By putting red items on the east side of your house, you will have better luck finding rare items,by putting orange items on the north side of your house, you will have better luck finding rare item and getting money. The same is true for green items in the south and yellow items in the west.

4)Nook's closes for 1 day each time he remodels. Just wait a day!
5)You can get a fishing pole, axe, shovel and net from Nook's store. If he doesn't have them now, wait a day or two. Maybe three.
6)The grab bag has 2 NES games and a song (the love song) on it. Only the first person to use the AC pack-in memory card get the grab bag. Don't panic until you have finished Nook's errands, saved and still haven't received a letter in the mail from Nintendo. The grab bag is attached to the letter, so don't throw it away.
7)To play the NES games, you don't need a NES. Just drop them in your house and press the A button in front of them.
8) Pitfalls are very simple. They are represented by a white ball with an exclamation point. If you plant them, you or others can fall in them, officially pissing them off. You can use these to help convince a mean animal to move out. If you fall in a pitfall press A rapidly to escape. Keep in mind that animals can also plant pitfalls.
9) You can cause an animal to leave your town by pissing it off and then going to another town. He or she may just go with you.
10) A Ghost appears in the world between 12am and 4am. Before pursuing this, make sure you have a net.
11) Do not plant trees in the dirt.
12) Trees take 5 days to grow and 3 days to regrow fruit, if aplicable. Although some trees will wilt or stop growing before they can produce fruit
13) When you find a gold spot, dig it open. You will find an 1000 gold bag. If your money luck is high you can make even more.
14) If you plant a money bag in a golden spot, a tree will grow that will have three times that amount of money. They do not grow very often though.
15) You can plant a shovel in a golden spot. You must have an extra shovel with you to do this. Doing this will turn the shovel gold.

one for you. well, it's not really exclusive but it's
new enough that it might as well be; not too many
people know this yet. Anyway, if you grab a shirt in
your inventory menu and drag it to the last row of
items and bring it all the way down. not just to that
last circle, press down again and it goes off the
inventory screen. press A and that shirt's pattern
will replace the default for the inventory screen.
i know, it's just a stupid easter egg but it's still
pretty interesting. plus, it also gets you a free
shirt (the one that was the default pattern). you can
get your shirt back, of course, by putting a new one
there.
17) Sometimes you will hit a rock and it will turn red with a shovel. Continue to hit it as fast as you can and you can make a lot of money! Tap that B button!!
18) The first time nook's store upgrades, it will go to a more broad scheduale. Upon then second upgrade, the time will return to 9:00 to 10:00 and the the third upgrade will bring the same.
19) If you use the clock to go back in time, all events you accomplished will still already have happened. For example, if you get the moon at the harvest moon festival and then go back in time a day, you will still have the moon.
20) If you see a present attached to a balloon floating around, follow it until it goes into a tree and then shake that tree to get the present.
21) If you are stung by a bee, save and quit, then go back to the game and the sting will be gone.
22) If you stay on the island long enough, you'll get a tan.
23) In order to get a golden fishing pole, catch every type of fish. In order to get a golden bug's net, catch every type of bug. To get a golden axe, have your town be perfect as per the wishing well for 2 weeks.
24) Golden Shovels dig up 100 bells 1 in 7 times when you dig in regular spots.

27) If you want to get a high HRA rating collect an entire series, you get 7,000 points times the amount of furniture in that series, plus 15,000. Since most series have 10 peices you would usually get 85,000 points for it. Add more series to make your score skyrocket!
28) If you order something from Nook's catalog, Go home, save, and turn off the Gamecube. Turn it back on and check your mail, your items will be there.
29) Coconut trees only grow when they are close to the beach. Do not plant them anywhere else.
30) You can get Wario's Woods and Basebell on the Island.
